What a great week for Adrinette! Also, yes to Adrien using Mandarin to say stuff he’s too shy to say in French.
I can totally see this.

i know adrien and marinette should be able to recognize each other but then again

magic
I feel like having been a superhero fan for years made me way more chill about this than most of the Miraculous fans.
Look, I’ve had to deal with “Lois Lane is an idiot for not being able to see past a pair of glasses” jokes for years. This is child’s play. At least Adrien and Marinette have masks.
Why don’t they recognize each other? Because they don’t, that’s why. Because superhero genre conventions. Because domino masks are actual magic. Whatever. Say it’s part of the magic of their transformation, if you like. But at the end of the day, it’s just something you’re gonna have to suspend disbelief on.
The truth of the matter is, Adrien and Marinette aren’t idiots, they’re just being controlled by the narrative conventions of their genre. And it is, admittedly, an aspect of the genre that strains credibility, but I think it’s also one that speaks to a very real aspect of human nature. Human beings wear multiple masks in our daily lives. We show many different faces and act different ways depending on who we’re around, and very few people get to see the full picture of another person. And as a result we put the people we know into boxes, and try to label them as one thing or another, and very often we don’t bother to look deeper.
Marinette looked at Adrien and decided he was a nice, refined boy, and now she can’t imagine that he could be anything else. Marinette looked at Chat Noir and decided he was a silly troublemaker, and now she can’t see him being anything else. Neither of her impressions is completely false, they’re just based on an incomplete picture of a whole person. The same applies to how Adrien sees Marinette and Ladybug respectively.
Recognizing another person is about more than just taking in their facial features, and you’d be amazed by how much our eyes can play tricks on us even in real life. Charlie Chaplin and Dolly Parton both lost lookalike contests of themselves. The superhero genre (and the Magical Girl genre, but I’m less familiar with that one) takes it to an extreme, to be sure. But it’s absolutely a truth of human nature that if you don’t expect to see someone in a certain place, there is a very real possibility that you just won’t see them.
My sweet darling. Thank you for saying it out loud. You deserve an award.
Yeah, thank you. This is perfect.

i imagine this is how it’d go if Mari were upset about something..
tbh really sorry for the poor drawings lmao my hand is not in the game today :,)
Another reveal, only this time the roles are reversed, and Marinette is the one who messes up!
I will probably never finish this, so I might as well post it hah
I’ve seen some thought trough emotional identity reveal theories out there (which I love), but I’m pretty sure Adrien will simply mess up his nicknames.
