When in speech it’s not English or Spanish or French
It’s when you get up on a stage or on a bench
You stand up straight and tall and a silence will fall

Speak up loud and clearly; don’t s-stumb-st-stutter
Keep your mouth wide open; don’t be quiet and mutter
And don’t use silly voices if it doesn’t fit
When tell of the Titanic, you will want to sound legit
And be sure all your words are 3 syllables each
It makes you look smart when you give a speech

Ask whereby you undertake topics you choose
To what extent do you desire to confuse
Discombobulate furthermore posthaste
Yeah, that’s great; is there more of my time you can waste?
Don’t use big fancy words or you might overreach
Keep it short, keep it small, when you give a speech

Give your speech a pattern and a clear-cut plan
That isn’t apparent to any other man
Your talk should have foucs and also be seamless
And be memorized for convenience

Everyone that you see everywhere that you go
With a different audience it’s a different show
Konichiwa, Bonjour, Ciao, Shalom, Hi
Remember this if you go world wide
Give a friendly thumbs up you might might call them a leech
Don’t you get culture shock when you give a speech

Did I miss anything about a minute ago
Even if it we’re true, would you even know
Give me sec…  Oh, wait!  I forgot!
That’s why I made cue cards!  Aren’t I such a hot-shot?
Use some repetition so they won’t besiege
Maybe hand out a program when you give a speech

Open up your throat and enunciate
If you want to sound anywhere close to great
Don’t over-complicate with unscrupulous words
Or else everything you say will be absurd

Let your sentences flow like a river or creek
Have a strong outline for the best technique
Consider the people that you’re talking to
And before I go, here’s some pointers for you
Keep your eyes on your audience and not where you walk
It’s best that you do this when you give your talk

Make certain your sources are believable
Or else it will be INCONCEIVABLE

Try some improvisation; keep ‘em glued to their seats
Leave them wanting more when you give a speech!
